All4Wash in Uganda
Uganda is a country full of young energy and great hope. At the same time, many schools still lack secure access to clean drinking water, toilets, and basic hygiene. This is exactly where our work comes in. Since 2023, Viva con Agua has been strengthening schools in Uganda with the ALL4WASH in Schools program: clean water, safe sanitation facilities, and effective hygiene training. Several schools are already benefiting, over 150 teachers have been trained, and we are continuing our efforts. In total, we are supporting 20 schools and reaching around 16,000 children. Every installation, every training, and every drop creates new opportunities for a future that begins more easily.

Our milestones
✔️ Water for a better future: Together we have already equipped 12 schools in Uganda with sustainable WASH infrastructure and significantly improved learning conditions.
✔️ Active Communities: Young people take responsibility and actively shape their future in WASH clubs. More than 150 teachers have been trained in sustainable hygiene practices.
✔️ Local Installations: Together we have established 4 rainwater harvesting systems, 2 motorized water systems, 5 new sanitation facilities & 3 waste incineration plants.
✔️ Local Collaboration: Strong partnerships with local authorities ensure sustainable changes.

In Uganda, many children lack access to clean water and safe toilets. The consequences are diseases and lost educational opportunities. However, every new facility changes lives: 💧Health: clean water protects against diseases. 💧Education: especially girls can return to school. 💧Community: schools and villages become strong, self-determined places.

Uganda: A Country on the Rise
Uganda is a country with youthful energy, cultural diversity, and impressive resilience. In recent years, Uganda has made significant progress, particularly in the energy sector. The Karuma Hydropower Plant commenced operations in 2024, representing the largest electricity project in the country. It provides sustainable energy for millions of households and strengthens the development of East Africa.
At the same time, another picture emerges. Many schools and communities still lack safe access to clean drinking water, functioning toilets, and basic hygiene. This is precisely where the work of Viva con Agua comes in.
Since 2009, Viva con Agua has been active in Uganda, supporting water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in collaboration with local partners. With the One WASH program, important foundations have already been established in the West Nile and Karamoja regions. New wells have been drilled, existing facilities repaired, and households equipped with water filters. Women and girls have gained access to menstrual hygiene materials and support services. These measures create health, stability, and new perspectives.
