Viva con Agua is continuously developing the Code of Conduct as part of a more comprehensive compliance management system. The Code and its accompanying guidelines are regularly adapted to internal and external developments, new insights, and feedback. Suggestions, ideas, and proposals for improvement to the Viva con Agua Compliance Officers are explicitly welcome, as they help to provide guidance and strengthen collective learning within the ecosystem.

The Code of Conduct defines the principles for our ethical, social, and legal conduct. It applies to all employees, freelancers, and volunteers of the Viva con Agua entities in Germany, Uganda, Switzerland, South Africa, and Austria. At the same time, it forms a binding basis for cooperation with network partners, partner organizations, as well as suppliers and service providers.

The contents of the Code are oriented towards international standards, including the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other standards on transparency and fundamental human rights. In addition, policies and processes provide further guidance for daily work.

The responsibility to anchor the Code of Conduct as a living and continuous process in daily work lies with the management, leadership, and Compliance Officers of Viva con Agua. They establish the necessary framework conditions and provide the appropriate resources for this purpose.
