UL4C in India
Learning that brings joy In the districts of Chhatarpur, Panna, and Niwari, something has been emerging since 2022 that empowers people and transforms communities. UL4C uses the universal languages of sports, art, and music to raise awareness about water, sanitation, and hygiene, and to initiate behavioral changes. No raised finger. No shame. But joy, activation, and community.

Our milestones
✔️ Over 50,000 households reached: UL4C strengthens WASH behavior in three districts and raises awareness for clean drinking water and hygiene.
✔️ Infrastructure that changes everyday life: New toilets, renovated facilities, handwashing stations, installed water tanks and pipes, as well as SODIS technology for safe water treatment.
✔️ Creative education in clubs, murals, and festivals: WASH clubs, kids clubs, comics, manuals, murals, and events like river walks strengthen knowledge and community.
✔️ Local collaboration: Strong partnerships with local authorities and the World Hunger Aid lead to great results here.

Water is life. But for clean water to have a long-term impact, it requires more than just technology. It needs enthusiasm, participation, and collective learning. UL4C creates exactly that: spaces where people playfully understand why water, sanitation, and hygiene shape their lives and what they can change themselves. Workshops, art actions, sports formats, and music programs generate positive experiences that activate and empower people. Children, teenagers, families, and entire communities grow into a responsibility that begins with joy and leads to long-lasting change. At the same time, we strengthen the local VWSC committees that operate, repair, and maintain the facilities. This creates a system that functions independently and stably.
