Why the focus is on Uganda

Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) are essential for a healthy life. In Uganda, however, many people lack access to them.

Diseases caused by contaminated water primarily affect children, and the lack of toilets at schools robs them of valuable learning time. We want to change that.

With Viva con Agua, we do not just build wells; we also strengthen local structures so that communities, schools, and authorities can sustainably manage their own water supply. Together with local people, we are creating a future where clean water is available to everyone.

ALL4WASH is our contribution to change in Uganda

✅ Focus regions: Kampala, Wakiso, West Nile, Karamoja 

✅ Partners: in collaboration with Welthungerhilfe, German Toilet Organization, and Aguaconsult 

✅ This project connects water, education, and empowerment – a promise for a better future 

✅ 30 schools are part of the project and are becoming pioneers for WASH 

✅ 4 new water systems supply 1,856 students with clean water 

✅ 4 modern sanitation facilities provide 2,656 children with safe, accessible toilets 

✅ 20 WASH clubs with 684 girls and 516 boys promote hygiene knowledge in schools and communities 

✅ 34 teachers have been trained to sustainably anchor WASH topics 

✅ 886 girls gained access to menstrual hygiene education

Daily impact: More than just water

Clean water changes everything: children no longer have to walk for miles, they are healthier, and they can focus fully on school. Especially for girls, it means more freedom and self-determination – safe toilets and hygiene strengthen their confidence and give them time to pursue their dreams.
